Redoing your kitchen to be trendy is fine. But redoing your kitchen to be timeless? That’s even better. Here are a few kitchen design trends that we’ve seen take off in recent years, with no signs of going out of fashion any time soon!
Quartz is a great middle of the road option between artificial laminate countertops and expensive natural materials like granite. It’s extremely strong, offers great value for the price, and is exceptionally low maintenance. Plus you have endless options for color and hue and can even pick specific options that closely resemble high-end natural materials like granite or marble.
Open layout kitchens are one of my personal favorite shifts over the last decades. They blend together the kitchen and dining area or kitchen and living area to create a single sense of home. Cooking, dining, and entertaining are more comfortable and the family spends more time in proximity, which is always a plus.
Kitchen islands are an important part of the open concept movement. They can help create a soft border between the rooms while filling multiple roles such as dining space, prep space, and storage space. And we won’t even get into even cooler options like kitchen island bars, multi-level kitchen islands, and kitchen islands loaded with appliances and other technology.
You’ve probably heard of smart homes, and a huge amount of smart home technology is specifically being developed for the kitchen. Built in voice assistants, sound systems, voice-enabled LEDs, and home monitoring centers are a natural fit and can be easily added into existing designs.
